The Mama Misitu mission is to empower relevant stakeholders through research ,training and dissemination of pertinent information on forestry so as to bring positive change in forestry sector governance and increase legitimate benefits from forests to adjacent communities.
“I asked myself several questions, as why did the campaign needs me? Would I real make a good ambassador of the Mama Misitu Campaign? these were the rotating questions in my brain”, She said Asha Mshana, ‘ The Mama Misitu ambassador’.I have been involved in different communicational campaigns but the Mama Misitu Campaign has sharpened my creativity towards conveying different messaged to different mediums. Also being a ambassador is being a mirror of the society.

Twaha Twaibu ‘the Wildlife department publicity Officer’ has been following MMC TV and radio programs and had the following to offer the campaign on behalf of MNRT. He said “We ‘the Government’ are impressed with MMC work. There’s a need to join efforts in educating Tanzanian’s citizens on the values of forest. Animals, water bodies, and even human depend on forest. Personally I call forests as ‘hero resources’. To support your campaign, MNRT offers you a free video van, radio and TV programs for airing your campaign products, he said.”

“If well conserved and utilized sustainably, it pays”, said David William Yonaza who was among the beneficiary who went to study visit in Kilwa. “I never thought that that communities in the rural areas could manage forests so well that they could record significant steps in development. ‘ I went on a study visit to Nainokwe and Nanjirinji villages in Kilwa district; what I found there was like the seventh wonder of the world. I had never seen such good schools, offices and houses built deep in Tanzania’s rural area.”
